Alaska Alimony Laws and Spousal Support
The Court may award spousal support, or alimony, to either spouse in an Alaska Divorce case and will consider the following factors:
-
the length of marriage;
-
the position in life of the parties during marriage;
-
the age and health of the parties;
-
the earning capacity of each spouse;
-
the financial condition of each spouse;
-
the parties conduct regarding their assets;
-
the division of the spouse's property; and
-
all other relevant factors. Non-monetary contributions to the marriage and marital fault may also be considered.
